Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

  • What is included in leak detection ?

It is a complete service where we dye test all the features of the pool, epoxy patching is included for applicable areas, pressure test plumbing and locate broken pipes. 60 day warranty on leak detections so if there are multiple appointments needed to complete a service it will be of no charge to you.

  • Do I need to be home during my appointment ?

No, as long as we can communicate before and after the service is completed. We do not need to enter the home, just the area where the pool is located. Findings are documented by pictures and video and a copy will be provided to you.

  • How much water does a pool lost in a day?

The rate of water evaporation varies depending upon location, temperature, humidity and wind, but it isn’t uncommon for an uncovered swimming pool to lose 5mm of water per day on average. The most accurate way to determine how much water your pool loses through evaporation is with a bucket test.

  • How do I do Bucket test to see if my pool is leaking?

A great way to test and see if you have a pool leak is the bucket test. To do this test you will need a bucket without a lid. A 5 gallon bucket is needed.

    1) Fill your pool to it's correct normal level (generally speaking that is usually mid way up at the skimmer opening).

    2) Place the bucket without a lid on the first step of the pool and fill the bucket a few inches higher than the pool water around it so it doesn't float away. Mark the water level inside the bucket with a permanent marker or duct tape and do the same for the pool water level on the outside of the bucket.

    3) Then watch the level of water in the pool and the bucket for 1 week, do not add water to the pool during this time (unless the pool becomes dangerously low). Because the bucket and the pool were exposed to the same amount of sun and rain after 1 week, if the water in the pool has gone down more then the water in the bucket then you have a leak.
